Out of the Closet

Well, will wonders never cease!! The great Rev. Ted Haggard has decided that it's time he came out of the closet and announce that he is now fully heterosexual. Actually his press release says that, after intense Christian counseling, he is now fully heterosexual. This announcement has no doubt sent the gay population into a spontaneous celebration. If there's anyone that you don't want in your club it's a gun toting, male hooker lovin' preacher. I'm sure the homosexual community is sooo glad to be rid of him.

I'm not celebrating. I would like to meet with a delegate from the gay community to negotiate giving the Rev. Ted Haggard back. We heterosexuals really, really don't want him either. He is a self righteous, hypocritical prick.

It's so funny to me that he spent several months in "intense Christian couseling". They "prayed him through" the homosexual threat in his life. Ted acts as though he caught "the gay bug" while on vacation in San Francisco. He thinks all he has to do is to make it through the acute phase of the gay bug disease and he'll be cured. What sickens me is that Christians all over the world will see Ted as a victim who just couldn't help it. They believe him because they don't want to entertain the thought that maybe, just maybe, he is gay. Because if a great Reverend can be gay then anyone can.

Ted Haggard and the board members of his mega church are the true disease of this society. They do more to harm Christianity than all the boa wearing drag queens out there. I happen to love the members of the gay community, not because they're gay, not because I think they're diseased and need pity, but because they're among the most tolerant of all humans. The incredible bigotry and hatred that's been thrown at them yet they manage to have little desire for revenge. Being gay might be a step up for Ted but I'm sure he doesn't see it that way.
