Imagine

Few times in my life has something ever touched me like John Lennon's song Imagine. It's such a simple and honest song. Lennon knew when to "leave it alone". He knew when to let the words be the entire song, no big musical arrangement, just pure sentiment. I don't proclaim to be an expert on the career of John Lennon. I am an admirer of the man who could make you stop what you're doing and listen.

Many people feel as I do about John Lennon's music. The picture was taken at the John Lennon Memorial in Central Park. In the center is one simple word, "Imagine". Can you imagine a world without greed, poverty, or war. He did.

Imagine

Imagine there's no heaven,

It's easy if you try,

No hell below us,

Above us only sky,

Imagine all the people

living for today...

Imagine there's no countries,

It isn't hard to do,

Nothing to kill or die for,

No religion too,

Imagine all the people

living life in peace...

Imagine no possessions,

I wonder if you can,

No need for greed or hunger,

A brotherhood of man,

Imagine all the people

Sharing all the world...

You may say Im a dreamer,

but Im not the only one,

I hope some day you'll join us,

And the world will live as one.
